Verizon iphone 4, question?

If i buy a Verizon Iphone 4 with clean ESN on Ebay and take it to the verizon store can they activate it easily or is that just not possible. I'm asking this because im new with this kind of stuff. I've heard people have found phones or got phones from friends and have activated the phone can i do this?
