How can I know if an iphone has a bad esn?

Well for one if it's an iPhone for att the esn is on your sim card and you cant relly tell once you put your sim card in the iPhone the esn and any thing that has to do with the net work is rest and replaced with your info sim num ,esn, and ph number changes. the s/n number stays the same
